As batteries power more of our cars and buildings, more advanced diagnostics helps bring battery costs down and accelerate electrification. ReJoule’s proactive system dynamically adjusts for optimal performance to increase usable battery capacity and improve safety. By enabling a step-change in the world’s understanding of how batteries perform,
ReJoule makes battery systems cheaper, safer, and more sustainable. ReJoule’s research efforts are funded by the National Science Foundation and California Energy Commission.

ABOUT

The Global Automotive & Mobility Innovation Challenge, or GAMIC, is an annual competition for early-stage automotive products/ systems and mobility companies with new and innovative technologies.

The GAMIC competition, was created in 2008 to identify innovative early-stage automotive products / systems and mobility companies; cultivate new technologies and solutions; and hasten their adoption into the automotive industry.

Innovation challenge participants are able to network and meet new partners; showcase their technologies; receive mentorship and business coaching; and compete for a continuum of commercialization assistance.

Each year, GAMIC provides competitors:

  • Access to dozens of industry experts to help accelerate and develop their businesses
  • More than $300,000 of professional services, in-kind services and cash to selected winners

The 12 Final Companies also have the chance to get exposure to over 15,000 mobility experts at the WCX™  World Congress  Experience – SAE International, held each year in the month of April.  The GAMIC – FINALS are normally held on site at the TCF Center, formally known as Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit, Michigan, USA in conjunction with SAE.

The WCX™  World Congress  Experience is scheduled to run from April 13 to April 15, 2021

The GAMIC WORLD FINALS will be held on April 12, 2021 as an ONLINE Event.

In light of COVID 19 and restrictions on international travel, all of the 2020-2021 GAMIC Competition will use a online format for the: Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals and the World Finals to ensure the opportunity for all global start-ups to participate from their own countries to ensure full inclusivity, safety and also provide easy access for our global audience of automotive and mobility executives to attend this years event online.

In addition, the challenge winners and finalists receive facilitated introductions to the automotive industry’s top decision-makers and influencers wiith Global OEM’s and Tier 1’s during the event and post event through specific group OEM showcase events and individual meetings.

GAMIC is a sponsored activity of the MI Innovation Alliance, a 501-c-3 corporation and works closely with SAE International and other strategic partners.

BENEFITS

For the participants, the benefits of GAMIC include mentoring, visibility, acceleration and, for many, proven success. Each year, GAMIC provides over $300,000 of in-kind commercialization services and cash awards to its award winners. GAMIC award winners and finalists have gone on to reach licensing, strategic partnership or research agreements; execute business awards and enter production; and, in several cases, raise millions in investment capital.

For our many partners – who act as speakers, judges, coaches, in-kind award and cash sponsors – GAMIC has provided early access to key technologies; introductions to fellow innovation seekers, and visibility as part of the fast-moving mobility solutions community.
